The KP-9 Pistol from Kalashnikov USA™ is a 100% U.S.-made, semi-automatic civilian-legal version of the Russian Vityaz submachine gun. Built on a blowback operating system, the KP-9 is a compact, reliable AK-style pistol chambered in 9x19mm with a 9.25″ barrel. It accepts 30- and 10-round Kalashnikov USA™ magazines and features a hinged top cover with a Picatinny rail, plus feed ramps designed for jacketed hollow point bullets.

Engineering Behind the Compact Design

While traditional Kalashnikov rifles use a gas system, the KP-9 operates via blowback. This was achieved by removing the AK’s gas components and adding mass to the bolt carrier to replace the piston system. This weighted carrier mimics the telescoping bolt design found in the Uzi, resulting in a more compact build.
