Dependable and robust, the KP-9 Pistol from Kalashnikov USA™ is a civilian-legal, semi-automatic, authentic version of the Russian Vityaz submachine gun — 100% made in the USA. The KP-9 is an easy-to-operate AK-style pistol that runs on a blowback operating system. It is chambered in 9×19mm, has a 9.25″ barrel, and accepts both 30 and 10-round Kalashnikov USA™ magazines. It features a hinged top cover with a Picatinny rail and feed ramps optimized for jacketed hollow point bullets.

The KP-9 includes a proprietary double-column, double-feed, steel-lined polymer magazine. It also has 1/2″×28 threaded muzzle for suppressors or muzzle devices, and a factory-installed flash suppressor. Many parts are interchangeable with standard AK components.

Why is the KP-9 So Compact?

Unlike traditional gas-operated AKs, the KP-9 uses a blowback operating system. The gas components were replaced with a heavier bolt carrier, eliminating the piston system. This design keeps the pistol compact — similar to the Uzi’s telescoping bolt system — while maintaining Kalashnikov durability.
